Trick I found for cutting food waste at home

Started freezing vegetable scraps in a bag last month. Onion skins, carrot tops, celery ends. Once the bag got full I boiled everything with salt. Made a stock that saved me $8 on buying boxed stuff. Anyone else do this or got a better scrap system?

Yeah I've been doing this too. My bag of veggie scraps is basically a science experiment at this point. I forgot about it for two weeks and now I think I'm growing penicillin in my freezer. But hey, when I finally boiled it the stock actually came out decent. Saved me a trip to the store and $6 on boxed broth. Just gotta remember to label the bag so my roommate doesn't toss it thinking it's trash.

Used to think saving veggie scraps was just hoarder behavior ngl. But seeing how much money you saved on broth plus reducing waste actually makes a lot of sense. Might have to start my own freezer science project now.
