Tried a 'no mow' patch in my yard this spring and the bugs showed up in a big way
I left a 10x10 foot square of my backyard in Denver untouched from April to June, just to see what would grow. I expected some wildflowers, but instead got a HUGE swarm of bees and butterflies I've never seen here before. Has anyone else done this and found it actually helps more than just planting a few flowers?

Did the same thing last year and it was insane for pollinators. My patch basically became a bug hotel with way more species than my garden flowers ever attracted. Letting it go wild seems to unlock a whole different level of activity.
