Chip conveyor jammed mid-run, pushed the spindle too far

Running a 3 hour production job on my Haas VF-2 at the shop in Dayton, and the auger seized up around hour 2. I kept going for 20 minutes before the coolant got so thick it tripped the load monitor. Had to pull 14 mangled parts and dig out a wadded up bundle of 6061 chips with a pry bar. Anyone else gamble on letting a jam run instead of stopping that first alarm?

You're braver than me, I shut it down at the first flicker of the load meter. That 20 minutes you pushed through probably cost more than the whole job paid, once you count the scrapped parts and the time spent with that pry bar. I learned that trick the hard way on a Mazak once, the auger bent a flight and then it was a full teardown. Now I just hit the feed hold, pop the cover, and spend 10 minutes with an air gun instead of risking an hour of chaos.
