Crash at 2am taught me to check the fixture bolts first
Running a night shift last Tuesday in Toledo and the part shifted mid-cut on the fourth op, gouged the spindle housing before I could hit feed hold. Turned out the T-nuts on the fixture were loose because I torqued them down when the machine was cold and the thermal growth backed them off. Do you guys re-check clamp torque after everything warms up, or do you just run longer warmup cycles?
