Guy at the Rockford shop showed me his trick for checking tool runout with a flashlight
He stuck a mag base on the table, pointed a cheap flashlight at the tool tip, and the shadow gap told him runout before he even grabbed an indicator, which saved him a ton of time on a 40 part run last Tuesday, so now I'm wondering if anyone else has little no-tool tricks like that for quick checks.

Wait, a flashlight shadow can actually show runout? That's wild, I always figured you needed a real indicator for that kind of thing.
