Just realized I was wrong about chasing a perfect 0.0005 tolerance on every part

I hit 500 parts on a run yesterday with the tolerance set to 0.001 and had zero rejects. I used to think tighter was always better, but it just added cycle time for no real gain on this job. When do you guys decide a spec is 'good enough' for the application?

Read a good article about that exact thing last week.

What's the actual part and what's it used for? That's the only way to know. A bracket holding a light needs way less precision than a seal in a pump. The print might say 0.001, but the function might not need it.
