Night shift air compressor question after a close call in Phoenix
Last Tuesday I was running a 3rd shift job near Phoenix and the air pressure on my Haas dropped to 80 psi mid-cut, nobody caught it for about 20 minutes before I noticed the finish looked rough. The foreman said it was 'just the coolant fog' but I pulled the program and the spindle load never spiked, so I think the compressor was struggling with the heat outside that night. Anyone else see pressure drops like this on older rotary screws, and should I insist on a log book for the compressor checks or am I overthinking it?
