Remember when you had to hand-write your tool offsets on a sheet?
I used to keep a clipboard next to the machine, writing down every offset change with a pencil. Now, with the machine's tool management software, I just punch it in once and it's saved for the next run. Anyone else miss the physical log, or is digital just way better?

Miss the clipboard? I think I lost my pencil about three years ago and never looked back. Sure, the paper log felt solid, but now I don't have to try and read my own terrible handwriting from a greasy sheet. Digital is just faster, even if it means one less thing to accidentally knock off the bench.

Three years without a pencil? That's actually wild. My whole shop would grind to a halt in a day. Digital logs are great until the system crashes or the tablet battery dies. Always keep a backup. A grease-stained notebook has saved me more times than I can count.
