Man, that's rough. I had a similar experience with a set of cheap end mills from some random seller. They looked the part in the photos but the first time I tried to cut anything harder than butter they just shattered. Your mileage may vary of course but I've learned the hard way that with cutting tools you get what you pay for most of the time. Those eBay listings with the stock photos are always a gamble.
