My friend told me to start with Python instead of C++
When I wanted to learn coding, my friend Mark, who's a software engineer, told me to skip C++ and start with Python. I didn't listen and tried C++ for a month, getting stuck on pointers and memory. I switched to Python like he said and built my first little text game in two weeks. It was way easier to see results and keep going. What was the best piece of beginner advice you got when starting out?

Mark was right on the money. I made the same mistake trying to learn C first. Spent weeks confused and not making anything. Switched to Python and actually built stuff right away. That early win kept me from quitting. Seeing results fast is everything when you're starting. Some people need to learn the hard way I guess.

Totally agree. Python gets you building stuff fast so you don't lose that early motivation.
