Paid $80 for a coding bootcamp prep course, then found free stuff that was better

I signed up for this online bootcamp prep course back in March thinking I needed structure to learn Python basics. They promised job-ready skills in 6 weeks, but every video was just someone reading slides and the quizzes barely worked. Then I found a free YouTube playlist and a Reddit study group that explained loops and functions way clearer in about 2 evenings. I'm not saying paid courses never help, but has anyone else dropped cash on beginner materials that ended up worse than what you can grab for free?
