PSA: That $30 course on Udemy saved me from wasting $200 on a bootcamp
I bought a cheap Python course on Udemy for $30 during a sale. It covered the basics and some error handling tricks. My buddy signed up for a fancy bootcamp that cost $200 and honestly we learned the same stuff. The big difference was I could rewatch lectures at my own pace while he rushed through live sessions. I also found free YouTube videos that filled in any gaps the course missed. So if you're starting out, try a sale-priced course first before spending big. Anyone else feel like bootcamps are overhyped for complete beginners?

My wallet still hasn't forgiven me for the $200 bootcamp I did on a whim. Turned out the instructor was reading straight from slides I could've found on Google for free. The $30 Udemy course I bought later was actually better because I could pause and yell at my screen without anyone judging me. Bootcamps feel like paying extra for a group panic session where nobody admits they're lost. Plus my attention span just can't handle sitting still for three straight hours of live coding. Now I just wait for sales and watch tutorials in bed like a normal person.

Nah I kinda disagree with that take a bit lol. The live panic session is actually the point for a lot of people - there's something about being forced to stare at code with other confused humans that makes it stick for me. Self-paced stuff is great too but I zone out way too easy without someone breathing down my virtual neck.
