Showerthought: I bought a $40 Python course back in 2018 and it was the best money I ever spent.

I was trying to learn from free tutorials but kept getting stuck on loops. The course had a project where you built a simple text game, and that finally made it click for me. It walked you through each line, explaining why things worked. I still use the basic patterns I learned there in my code today. Anyone else have a cheap resource that really unlocked a concept for you?

Yeah, it's not just the info, it's the time you save. Scrolling through ten free tutorials to find the one that explains it right can take hours. Paying forty bucks to skip that search is a trade-off. For some people, their free time is worth more than the course cost. The real value is in a clear path when you're stuck.

Honestly, I've had the opposite experience with paid courses. They often just repackage free info you can find with a good search. That structure can be helpful, but calling it the best money ever spent feels like a stretch when so much is free.

You're right, a lot of that stuff is just free info with a price tag.
