Warning: my first real project almost died because of a missing semicolon

Last Tuesday I spent 11 hours trying to fix a signup button that just would not work. I checked everything, even rewatched three tutorials, and finally found the issue was a single semicolon missing after a function call. My neighbor who codes for a living saw it in about 20 seconds when he came over. Has anyone else had a bug that small eat up a whole day?

Dude, "20 seconds" hit me right in the chest because that's exactly what happened with my login form a few months back. I spent a whole Saturday, like 9 hours, convinced the problem was some deep API issue or a caching thing. I was rewriting the fetch call over and over, even added a bunch of console logs that just showed the same stupid error. My buddy finally looked over my shoulder while grabbing a beer and just pointed at the line where I forgot a closing parenthesis. One character, that's all it was, and my whole weekend vanished. It's crazy how your brain just locks onto the wrong part of the code and refuses to see the simple stuff.
