Was at the library in Springfield and saw a kid using Scratch on the public computers
I was grabbing a book on Python basics and saw this maybe 10 year old making a little cat move across the screen with blocks. It was the first time I've seen someone actually using it in person, not just in a tutorial. For people who started with block coding, what was the hardest part about switching to typing real code later?

Wait, they still have public computers?

Seriously, they are a total lifesaver! Not everyone can afford a laptop or has reliable internet at home. Libraries are one of the last free places to go for job applications or school work. Acting like public computers are outdated is pretty out of touch with how many people actually live.

Oh the "still have public computers" thing always gets me. I was in that exact spot a few years ago when my laptop died and I had to use the library computers to apply for jobs and it honestly worked out fine.
