Guy at my local roaster in Spokane told me to stop "fixing" my pour and just let it run
Was at a shop on Monroe last Saturday and the barista watched me pour, then told me my constant little circle corrections were the reason my cup tasted muddy. He said to pick one steady pace and keep it boring, 3 minutes total, no fussing. I did that for a week and my morning cup is clearer than anything I got from chasing fancy gear. Anyone else get better results by doing less with their pour?
Man, I have to push back a little on the idea that fussing is what made your cup muddy. The thing is, pouring in circles is not the problem by itself, it is pouring in random circles that kicks up the bed and chokes the flow. A steady circle at one speed does the same job as your boring straight pour, the real fix was just picking a pace and sticking with it.
