I called cold brew a gimmick for years, then I tried the method from that shop in Austin

Always thought it was just weak iced coffee for people who didn't know better. My friend made me try the concentrate from Houndstooth Coffee, steeped for 18 hours in their specific recipe. The flavor was shockingly smooth and strong, with zero bitterness even black. Has anyone else had a total 180 on a brewing method they used to hate?

French press coffee used to taste muddy to me until I tried a coarser grind.

Oh wow, that's exactly what happened to me. I always thought that was just how french press coffee tasted, kind of bitter and thick. Switching to a much coarser grind was a total game changer, it's so much cleaner now.

Yeah @zaram47 same here lol. I was about ready to give up on french press entirely until someone told me to go way coarser than I thought was right. Ended up switching to a burr grinder set on like the 3rd or 4th notch from the coarsest setting and it fixed the whole gritty bitter problem overnight. Even the color of the brew looks different now, way clearer.
