My gooseneck kettle started leaking from the base last Tuesday, right before my morning pour-over.
I fixed it with some food-grade silicone sealant from the hardware store, but has anyone else had a kettle fail like that after about two years of daily use?

Two years of daily use and it just gives out? That's barely 730 pours. My cheap travel kettle from a discount store lasted five years before the button got weird. It feels like these nicer brands use weaker materials on purpose.

My Bonavita kettle did the exact same thing at the two-year mark. Planned obsolescence is a real jerk.

I had a Cuisinart griddle that died exactly 13 months in, just past the warranty period. The heating element just quit mid pancake. I took it apart and found a cheap thermal fuse that was way undersized for what it needed to handle. Replaced it with a better rated one from the hardware store and it's been running for four years now. These companies know exactly what they're doing with those weak points.
