My trusty French press gave out on me this morning, right before my first cup.
It was my dad's old Bodum from the 90s, and the glass carafe just cracked all the way down the side when I poured the hot water in. I had to scramble and make a sad, weak cup with a tea bag filter, which was a real bummer. What's a good, sturdy replacement that won't break the bank, maybe under $50?

Man, that's a real heartbreaker about your dad's old Bodum. I was just reading a coffee blog that said the all-stainless steel French presses are basically indestructible for home use. They don't have that glass carafe to worry about. Brands like Frieling or Mueller get mentioned a lot, but I've seen some decent ones from Amazon basics too. The trade-off is they can be a little pricier, but you might find a sale. Might be worth it for something that lasts another 30 years, right?

Wait, they make French presses that don't shatter?
