My uncle told me to add a pinch of salt to my coffee grounds
He swore it would cut the bitterness in my cheap grocery store beans. I tried it this morning with my usual scoop of a dark roast. The coffee tasted weirdly flat, like I was drinking warm salt water. I had to dump the whole pot and start over. Has anyone else tried this and actually liked the result?

How much salt did you actually use, a real pinch or more?

A real pinch or more? Because there's a big difference between a tiny three finger pinch and a full on grabbing a pile with your whole hand. My mom always joked that if the salt shaker makes a clunking sound when it hits the pot, you added too much. Did you just do a quick shake from the shaker or actually pinch some out of the container

Honestly I never measure... just grab some between my fingers and toss it in. My grandma used to say if you can taste the salt, you added it too late in the process.
