PSA: I started using a cheap kitchen scale for my morning coffee and it fixed my brew.
My coffee kept tasting weak and sour, even with a good grinder. I was just scooping beans by volume for months. Last Tuesday, I got a $15 digital scale from the grocery store and started weighing 18 grams of beans for my 300ml pour-over. The difference was instant. My cups are way more balanced now. Has anyone else had a simple gear change make that big a jump in taste?

My old French press was a total crapshoot before I got a scale, I mean I was just guessing with a scoop from the protein powder tub. It's wild how a cheap kitchen gadget can make your expensive beans actually taste right. I went through a whole bag of something really nice thinking it was just a bad roast before I figured it out. That sour, weak taste is exactly what I was getting, it's such a relief to fix it.

Right there with you @ninam76, that sour taste is the worst. It's crazy how just a couple grams off can ruin a whole pot. The scale was a total game changer for my morning routine, no more guessing. I keep mine right next to the grinder so I don't forget. Makes you wonder how much good coffee we all wasted before figuring it out.
