That $9 pour-over cone from a garage sale in Austin ruined my espresso machine for good
Picked up a beat up ceramic V60 at a garage sale off South Congress last month and now I can't stand the taste of my usual espresso shots from my Gaggia. The pour-over gives this clean brightness that makes my machine's output taste like burnt dirt water. How do you guys switch between brewing methods without feeling like one of them is just inferior now?

met a guy at a coffee shop who swore his $5 thrift store Chemex ruined his whole home setup too, like for real.

Honestly that's exactly what happened to me with my Aeropress. Tbh I still pull shots sometimes but they just feel heavy and muddy compared to the clarity I get from a simple pour-over. Ngl that garage sale find might have ruined your espresso game for good.

170 degrees is your new best friend. That pour-over taught you what coffee can actually taste like. Now you just have to accept that espresso is a different beast and not a better one.
