That week I burned 4 batches of beans in a row
Last Tuesday I was trying to roast a batch of Ethiopian Yirgacheffe and totally spaced out while checking emails. The smoke alarm went off and my roommate came running in thinking the apartment was on fire. Three more tries that week and each one came out either scorched or barely roasted. Has anyone else had a week where your timing was just completely off with a new bean profile?

Sounds like you were auditioning for a fire alarm band or something.

@reese_lane29 People really act like a little smoke or beeping is the end of the world. Last week my neighbor's detector went off for like an hour during a kitchen mishap and nobody called the fire department. Its just a nuisance noise, not a crisis. Unless you see actual flames or smell gas, let the battery die or open a window before you make it a whole production.
