Tried a pour-over at a random gas station in rural Oregon and it wrecked my whole routine

I was driving through Prineville last month and stopped at this little gas station that had a sign saying 'fresh pour-over'. The barista was this older guy who ground the beans right there and used a scale and everything. One sip and I swear it was better than anything I've made at home in 5 years. Now I'm second-guessing my whole setup and wondering if I should just buy from that gas station dude instead of my usual roaster. Has anyone else had a total stranger ruin their coffee game like that?

Used to think gas station coffee was always garbage. That old guy sounds like he actually cares about what he's doing, not just punching a clock. Makes you wonder how many hidden gems are out there.

Oh absolutely, I had a mechanic once who made the best coffee I've ever had from that little pot in his shop.
