Two local roasters, same beans, one was way better and it wasn't close
Bought the same Ethiopian Yirgacheffe from a shop in Austin for $18 and a bag from a stand at the farmers market for $14, and the cheap one had a fruitier taste and way less bitterness after I dialed in the grind at 18 clicks on my basic grinder, anyone else find that price says nothing about quality?

and honestly the roasting date matters more than the price tag most of the time, that farmers market guy probably roasted it a week ago while the shop might've had it sitting for a month. plus smaller roasters tend to do lighter profiles that let the fruity notes pop, the big shops play it safe with medium roasts so more people like it.
