Whoa, I always thought those clear jars looked nice on the counter. But my last batch of coffee beans did taste kinda flat. I guess the light really does break down the oils or whatever. I'm switching to the ceramic canister in the cupboard.

Yeah, it's like that with spices too. My mom kept her paprika in one of those little glass shakers by the stove for years. The stuff turned from bright red to this sad, dusty brown color and lost all its punch. Tasted like nothing. Light and heat just wreck the good stuff.
