Why does nobody talk about double walled glass for pour overs
I did a side by side last Sunday with my regular ceramic mug and one of those cheap double walled glass cups I got for $12 at a flea market in Portland. The temperature difference was wild, the glass kept my coffee hot for a solid 20 minutes longer, no joke. I thought the ceramic would win on flavor but the glass let the brightness of my Ethiopian beans come through way clearer, maybe because it doesn't hold heat the same way. I've been doing pour overs for about 2 years now and this simple switch made a bigger difference than upgrading my grinder did. Anyone else notice a big change just from the cup material, or am I overthinking it?

Man, youre overthinking this big time. Twenty minutes hotter doesnt mean much when youre probably drinking it in ten anyway. And the brightness thing? That sounds like placebo more than anything, especially with a cheap $12 glass from a flea market. Ive tested mugs side by side before and the difference was so small I couldnt tell which was which without checking the clock. If it makes you happy, cool, but calling it a bigger upgrade than a grinder is a stretch.
