Pro tip: my barber in Cleveland gave me a better way to pick a side project than any list I've read
Was getting a cut at this little shop on Lorain Ave last Saturday and got talking to the guy about how I keep starting hobby projects and dropping them by week two. He said stop picking the project that sounds cool and pick the one you'd still mess with on a Tuesday night when you're tired and nothing's going right. That hit weird because I'd been picking things based on how good they'd look finished, not on whether I actually liked the doing part. So I dropped a woodworking thing I'd been forcing and went back to a dumb little blog I actually enjoy writing, and it's the first time in months I've stuck with something past the first month. How do you all filter out the projects that are just for show before you sink money into them?
