A client told me my cable ties were 'too aggressive' and honestly, they had a point

I was finishing a clean build for a gaming PC in a clear case, and I used about two dozen black zip ties to bundle everything super tight. The client, a graphic designer, looked at it and said, 'It looks like you're punishing the wires.' I realized I was just making it neat for me, not for them. Now I use those velcro straps for any build where the user might open it up later, and I leave a little slack. Anyone else get a piece of feedback that made you switch up a basic habit?

Wait, TWO DOZEN zip ties? On ONE build? That's not a PC, that's a hostage situation. I can just picture those poor wires all cinched down like they're in a tiny black straitjacket. No wonder the client felt bad for them. Switching to velcro is a total no-brainer, it's like giving the cables a chance to breathe.

Tiny black straitjacket" is the perfect way to put it. It's like we forget the wires have to live in there and move a little when you swap a part. I started leaving a soft loop near any connector, like for the GPU power. That way there's no hard pull on the port if you need to unplug it, and it just looks more relaxed in the case.
