Adobe really ruined their software between CS6 and the Creative Cloud switch
I still use CS6 on an old offline machine and it loads in under 3 seconds, meanwhile the latest Photoshop takes almost a full minute just to open on the same specs - has anyone else kept an older version just to get actual work done?

Yeah I still rock CS6 for that exact reason.

CS6 was the last version that actually felt finished when it dropped... everything after that seems like they release half-baked features and call it an upgrade. The color correction tools for video in CS6 were peak too, I still use SpeedGrade for grading even though Adobe killed it off. Just feels more responsive than the subscription stuff, no constant nagging to update or "creative cloud" nonsense running in the background.
