Debate: Quick format vs full reinstall for drive errors
I had a client's PC with bad sectors on the drive. Tried chkdsk first - took 6 hours and only fixed some. Ended up doing a full reinstall with a new SSD. Solve the root or patch it up? What do you guys lean towards when drives start failing?

Yeah totally with you on this. I had a similar thing happen and after wasting a day trying to fix it I just swapped the drive and did a fresh install, way less hassle in the long run.

Patricia nailed it - I spent 8 hours on a failing Seagate once trying to patch bad sectors before giving up and swapping it out. Full replacement is almost always faster and more reliable than playing whack-a-mole with errors.
