I used to think canned air was fine for everything, but a dusty server in Phoenix changed my mind.
That job took me 3 hours to clean with just air, but a $40 electric blaster did it in 20 minutes without spreading dust everywhere. Anyone have a good brand for those blowers that won't break the bank?

That Phoenix dust is like concrete once it bakes onto components. When you used the electric blaster, did you notice if it was powerful enough to get the really caked-on stuff out of the heat sinks, or did you still need to brush some areas? Just wondering how much elbow grease it actually saves on the worst jobs.

Oh man, @craig.brian, you're not kidding about that baked-on dust. My electric blaster got maybe 80% of it off the heat sink fins, but I still had to go in with a soft brush for the corners and the really stubborn layers. It saves a ton of time on the bulk of the mess, but for that last bit of concrete, some manual work is still needed.

Wait, you only got 80% off? That's way better than my results. Mine barely made a dent in the baked-on layers on the heat sink. I had to scrub almost all of it by hand. Maybe my blaster is just weak, but it felt like I was mostly just blowing around the loose dust on top.
