I was labeling my bench power supply wrong for a solid year

A guy named Mark at the shop in Springfield pointed out that my +12V rail was actually putting out 11.8V under load... he said my labels were just for the no-load voltage, which is useless for real work. I started testing and labeling everything at a 2 amp draw instead. Anyone else have a better way to mark their bench gear?

Man, that's such a classic bench mistake, isn't it? I've totally been there, trusting the sticker numbers and then wondering why a circuit acts funny. Labeling for a real load like you do now is smart. I started writing both the no-load and a typical load voltage on my stuff with a sharpie, just so I remember the drop. It saves so much headache later.

Sharpies always smear on my bench supplies though. I just keep a little notebook with the real numbers for each one.
