Rant: Figuring out a fix for random USB disconnects
Honestly, I was troubleshooting a friend's setup where his mouse kept dropping out. Tbh, after digging around, I learned that power saving settings in Windows can turn off USB ports to save energy. Ngl, disabling that in Device Manager for each USB hub stopped the issue cold. It's a simple setting but it drove me nuts until I found it.

Oh man, that reminds me of my old wireless keyboard that would just freeze up. Took me forever to realize it was the receiver being too close to a power strip.

Blaming the power strip seems off. My receiver sits on a power strip and works fine. Might be your keyboard was just junk.

Wait, @mia_fox98, your receiver works fine on a strip? That's actually wild to me. David's story makes total sense because those things can get super finicky with interference. Having a power strip right next to it is basically asking for weird signal problems. Maybe some gear is just more sensitive, but that would drive me nuts. Definitely not something to just brush off as junk hardware right away.
