Saw a shop in Mesa charging $95 for thermal paste jobs and people are paying it
Stopped by a strip mall repair place in Mesa yesterday to grab a donor laptop off a buddy who works there. He showed me their service menu on the wall. $95 for a repaste. $60 just to run a diagnostic. A basic tune up was $150. He said they do 8 to 10 of those paste jobs every week from walk ins who never question it. I am not saying shops should work for free. I am saying if you are quoting flat rates like that, be ready for folks to figure out a tube of paste costs 8 bucks. Has anyone here had to explain pricing to an angry customer who got a cheaper quote somewhere else?
