That $120 thermal camera attachment paid for itself in one afternoon

Bought one of those cheap FLIR modules for my phone last month, mostly out of curiosity. Then a client in Wilmington called about a server room running hot, and I found the cold air leak behind a false wall in 20 minutes. The HVAC guy quoted them $2k to redo the ductwork blind, but we fixed the sealing for $80 in foam. Has anyone else had a niche tool that just instantly justified its cost?

My buddy used one to find a warm spot in his attic that was letting raccoons in, took him ten minutes to trace the whole path from the roof to the wall. He patched it with scrap metal and some spray foam he already had. So yeah, these things have a way of paying for themselves in weird ways you don't expect.
