Debate: Burlap or curing compound for hot weather pours?
Tried burlap on a 100 degree day last August. Job was a 30 yard driveway in Phoenix. Kept it wet every 2 hours. Surface still cracked in 3 spots. Buddy says curing compound would've sealed it better. He claims burlap is old school, traps too much heat. But I've used compound before and got cloudy patches. Which side are you on for desert heat? Anyone had luck with something else?

Try wet sand like @troykim said, its cheap and doesnt reflect heat like burlap does.

Rolled with wet burlap on a 95 degree slab last summer. Two days of soaking it like a sponge still left a crack running down the middle. Curing compound sounds nice until you get those white blotches that look like a bad sunburn. Honestly in that heat you're just picking between a headache and a migraine. Maybe try wet sand next time.
