Finally caved and bought a $350 magnesium bull float after my old aluminum one kept warping, and it made finishing that big warehouse slab in Phoenix last week feel like a dream.

Has anyone else switched to magnesium and noticed a huge difference on those hot, dry pours?

My buddy in Texas swears by his magnesium float now. He said on a big driveway pour last summer, the magnesium didn't drag or stick like his old steel one did when the concrete set up fast. It just glides over the top way easier.

My buddy Tom dropped his aluminum float in wet concrete and had to fish it out with a rake.

Still think aluminum works fine if you keep it wet and don't leave it in the sun.

Oh man, totally agree, magnesium floats are a total game changer once you try one.
