Finished a 10,000 square foot pour in Phoenix and the math on the bull float strokes hit me
We were doing a big warehouse slab and I kept track out of boredom. By the end, I had made over 15,000 passes with that bull float. That number is crazy to think about, just one guy moving a tool back and forth that many times. Some of the old timers say counting that stuff is pointless, you just work until it's done. But for me, seeing that huge number made me respect the sheer physical grind of the job in a new way. Do you guys ever think about the raw numbers behind a finish, or is it better to just keep your head down and work?

Holy crap, 15,000 passes is wild to see written out. I get the old timers saying to just work, but I'm with you. I started counting sacks on a mud job once and it changed how I saw the whole day. You stop feeling the single stroke and start feeling the whole mountain of work you're moving. Makes you appreciate just getting it done.
