Heard a GC trash our trowel marks, then he ate his words

Last Tuesday on a job in Tacoma, the general contractor pointed at our slab and said it looked 'wavy like a lake.' I didn't argue. Just had him walk over with a straightedge. Laid it down, zero gaps. He shut up fast. Some folks think power troweling fixes everything, but timing and footwork matter more. Anyone else deal with a GC who judges before checking with a straightedge?
