Lost a whole slab because I ignored the humidity readings at a job in Houston

I was out on a job near the Galleria in Houston back in August, pouring a 30x40 patio slab. The humidity was sitting at 85% and I figured my mix was fine, started finishing it like normal. By the time I got to the final trowel pass, the surface was already setting up way too fast and I couldn't get it smooth. Ended up with a rough, crusty finish that the homeowner made me grind down and I ate $400 of my own labor. Has anyone else had humidity ruin a pour like that where the numbers said one thing but your gut said another?

Happens with a lot of things really. Check the forecast all you want but the conditions on the ground always win.

Yeah honestly I used to RELY on forecasts but you're totally right, conditions on the ground ALWAYS win.
