Spent 6 hours trying to fix a small hump in a driveway pour

I was finishing a 30x40 slab in Tulsa and this one tiny hump kept bugging me, so I kept running the bull float over it and it just got worse. 3 more hours of screeding and troweling later and I learned you gotta just leave it and grind it down after it cures. Has anyone else fought a pour way longer than it was worth?

Did you check for low spots with a straightedge before the concrete stiffened up?

You're making it worse every time you touch it after it starts setting up. Bull floating that hump just pushes more water and cream to the surface and makes it bulge out more. A straightedge is the only way to catch that stuff early before the concrete stiffens. Once it's too late you can't fix it with tools, you just have to grind it out after it cures. That's the only real solution.
