Tried stamped concrete overlay vs. full pour for a patio last month

Customer wanted a stamped look on their existing slab in Raleigh. I pushed for a full tear out and repour. They went with overlay to save money. The overlay job took 2 days. Looked okay at first. But after 3 weeks, one corner started peeling near the downspout. That extra moisture got underneath. Full pour would have cost $800 more upfront. Now they're paying me $400 just to patch that section. Has anyone else had overlays fail like this in wet areas?

Had a buddy in Charlotte with the same issue, peeled right off near the gutter...
