Got roasted for my 'flat earth' PowerPoint at a local meetup
Someone pointed out I used a photo of a basketball to prove my point, which they said was 'not a planet'. I swapped it for a picture of a marble and now my whole argument feels shaky. Anyone else have their evidence picked apart like that?

Yeah, that's the worst. I had a guy ask me why the horizon looks flat if we're on a ball, and I said it's because it's so big. He pulled out his phone, did some math about how much curve we should see from a beach, and my whole thing just... fell apart. Makes you double-check everything.

That math only works if you assume a perfectly smooth Earth.
