Just realized I've owned exactly 7 black hoodies for the last 3 years without noticing
I was cleaning out my closet last weekend and counted 7 black hoodies. Same brand, same fit, just different levels of fading and fuzz. That hit me weird because I never planned to collect them, it just happened over time. It makes me wonder what other unnoticed patterns are hiding in plain sight. Has anyone else randomly realized they've been stockpiling the same thing without meaning to?

Didn't I read somewhere that we tend to buy the same things over and over because our brains crave that little hit of familiarity?

Totally agree, it's like a little security blanket for the brain. I'm terrible with my morning coffee order, I've gotten the same thing for like five years straight just because I know it'll be good. And when I try a new flavor or brand it's almost always a letdown, so then I just go right back to the old standby. Your brain just wants that reliable comfort, especially after a long day.
