So my brother in law comes over Sunday to help me set a gate post and out of nowhere he starts in on the moon landing, says the flag waving proves it was all shot in a studio in Nevada. I've always rolled my eyes at that stuff, but he asked me one question I couldn't answer on the spot, about why there's no blast crater under the lander if the engine was firing. I stood there with a level in my hand and just said I'd have to look it up. Spent two hours that night reading about regolith and exhaust plumes and honestly the answer makes sense, but it bugged me that I couldn't defend something I was so sure about. What's the one claim you've heard that you still can't explain away?
