My old school route changed after they added the cell tower in 2019

I drove the same 12 mile stretch to work for years near Boise, and suddenly the GPS started sending everyone down the side roads... but the traffic got way worse on the main highway about 4 months after that tower went up. People are glued to their phones more than ever, and I watched three rear endings in one week at the same intersection. It hit me that the roads didn't change, just the behavior around them, and nobody talks about how infrastructure gets quietly outdated. Anyone else notice a specific spot that shifted after some tech upgrade nearby?
