Pro tip: Someone told me my podcast audio was too thin, so I changed my mic placement

Last month a listener emailed saying my voice sounded hollow and far away. I was using a Blue Yeti on the default cardioid setting but had it too far from my mouth. After moving it 6 inches closer and angling it downward, the next episode got 3 positive comments about the sound quality. Anybody else get feedback that forced you to rethink your setup?

Man, that's a great tip about angling it downward. Moving the mic closer sounds like it made a huge difference for you. It's funny how such a small change can totally fix the problem.
