That 2017 eclipse in Salem totally wrecked how I watch the weather now

I went up to Salem in August 2017 with my cousin to see the total solar eclipse. We pulled over on a random highway exit and watched it from a muddy field with like 50 other people. But halfway through, this guy started shouting about how the government dimmed the sky on purpose to test crowd control. Idk, it sounded crazy but now I can't look at a clear sky without wondering if someone's messing with it. Has anyone else had a weird experience like that mess with your head?

Hang on, the eclipse in 2017 was a total solar eclipse, not just some "dimmed sky" situation. The moon blocks the sun completely, it's not the government messing with anything. That guy in the field was probably just some random person who doesn't understand how orbits work. I get feeling weird about it though, seeing the sky go dark in the middle of the day is definitely trippy. But ngl, once you realize it's just the moon passing in front of the sun exactly where it should be, it's way more cool than creepy. Tbh, I still get a little jumpy during storms now, but I don't think anyone's controlling the weather.

The 2017 eclipse near Nashville honestly just felt peaceful, like a cool quiet afternoon nap.
