The airport ramp at PDX made me rethink the whole chemtrail thing

Flew into Portland last Tuesday and saw the ground crew spraying the tarmac right before takeoff. Looked like a fine mist, not a stream. I checked the gate board, it was a 737, and they did it for about 3 minutes with a small truck. That got me digging into airport operations, and turns out it's just deicing fluid mixed with water for cold weather, but the timing was too perfect with the plane leaving. Has anyone else actually timed those spray runs against the departure schedule, or am I just seeing patterns where there's nothing?

Read somewhere that ground crews spray deicing fluid on schedule, so that timing was probably just normal ops.

Noticed that's how everything works now, everyone just follows the checklist instead of actually watching what's happening. Kinda scary when you think about how much we trust the routine to catch the exceptions.
